In a statement, Bains alleged that the CM was acting selectively and giving a free run to those belonging to his group. He demanded that the CM should tell the Speaker to resign and hire an independent agency to assess the ecological destruction of the Shivalik hills. During the Vidhan Sabha session in June last year, the Opposition had raised the issue of an FIR registered against Rana KP’s son-in-law Dhruv Singh Kanwar on the charge of illegal mining. The issue had led to Bains’s suspension from the House for the rest of the session.
